Everything You Need to Know for Golf in Augusta

Why do we stay in Columbia SC for the Masters?

Augusta during Masters Week is extremely crowded, offers limited facilities, and all at vastly inflated prices. Columbia is about an hour away and offers all the facilities of a city. Our clients can walk out in the evening and find space in good bars and restaurants at sensible prices.


What happens for thunder and lightning at the Masters?

Suspension of play will be by the sounding of an air horn or similar alert. You should seek shelter immediately upon hearing the alert. The hospitality facility is the perfect spot to wait out inclement weather.


What is the dress code at Augusta National?

Golfing attire is acceptable, shorts are permitted and comfortable walking or golf shoes are recommended. You may wish to take a windcheater or a waterproof. Alternatively, these can be purchased at the Augusta Club shop if required.


Do I need to provide any ID to get my Masters badge?

YES, you must bring your passport with you each day when attending The Masters. Your passport acts as a guarantee for the badge and will be returned to you at the end of the day once you return your badge. All passports are kept in a secure safe on-site.


Where is the Masters Hospitality located?

Approximately 400 yards from the golf course.


Which airports fly to Columbia for the Masters?

The two most popular airports to fly from to Columbia from the UK are Manchester and London Heathrow. Either with Delta Airlines via Atlanta or US Airways via Philadelphia.


How far is the hotel from the airport for the Masters?

The Marriott Hotel is 10 miles from the airport and takes approximately 15 minutes in a taxi.


Why are flights not included with each Masters tour?

Flights are not included due to many guests travelling from all across the world and many use frequent flyer points or air miles.

What time do the gates open for the Masters?

Gates open at 8:00am each day and close at approximately 6:30pm during Practice Rounds and 30 minutes after play on Tournament days.


What items are prohibited in Augusta National?

When do I receive my Masters Tournament ticket?

Ticket will be provided to you each day upon arrival at the Hospitality facility.


Can I keep my Masters badge as a souvenir?

All badges must be handed back at the end of each day, even Sunday. If you want your badge as a souvenir, you need to let us know, and we may be able to send them to you after we return to the UK, this would be at a cost.


What is the weather like at Augusta?

Average temperatures range from highs in the 80s to lows in the 50s. Light jackets and rain gear are necessary at times.


What time will we be leaving Augusta each day?

The coach will leave roughly one hour after the end of the days’ play to allow guests to have a refreshing drink before departure.


Can I upgrade to a single room for the Masters?

Single rooms can be arranged subject to a supplement, unless included in your tour package.
